David | “Rejected but Chosen”

Devotional – Day 2: David | “Rejected but Chosen”

 Scripture Reading:

“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

— 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)

🧎‍♂️ Devotional Thought:

David wasn’t even invited to the lineup when Samuel came to anoint the next king. His own father didn’t consider him. His brothers mocked him when he showed up at the battlefield. And yet — God saw what no one else did: a shepherd boy with a king’s heart.

You may feel like you’ve been overlooked, underestimated, or dismissed by your own family. But God doesn't call the qualified — He qualifies the called. Your worth isn’t defined by who doesn’t see you — it’s defined by the One who created you.

💭 Reflection Prompt:

What parts of me have I hidden or questioned because of others’ rejection? What does God see in me?

🙏 Prayer Prompt:

Father, thank You for seeing my heart even when others don’t. Help me to walk confidently in what You’ve called me to do — not because people approve, but because You chose me.”
