Hannah | “Mocked but Heard”
✨ Devotional – Day 5: Hannah | “Mocked but Heard”
Scripture Reading:
“And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.”
— 1 Samuel 1:10 (KJV)
🧎♀️ Devotional Thought:
Hannah had every reason to give up. She was barren in a time when a woman’s worth was often tied to her ability to bear children. On top of that, her husband’s other wife, Peninnah, constantly provoked her — mocking her pain, flaunting her own children, and stirring up grief. Even her husband didn’t fully understand her sorrow.
But instead of retaliating or shutting down, Hannah poured out her heart to God in prayer. And God answered. Her story reminds us: You may be mocked, misunderstood, or dismissed, even by those closest to you. But your prayers are never wasted. God hears.
💭 Reflection Prompt:
What private pain have I been carrying silently? Have I brought it honestly before God?
🙏 Prayer Prompt:
“Father, I bring You the wounds that others can’t see — and maybe wouldn’t understand even if they did. Thank You for hearing me. Strengthen me while I wait for Your answer.”
