Jephthah | “Cast Out but Called Back”
✨ Devotional – Day 4: Jephthah | “Cast Out but Called Back”
Scripture Reading:
“Then Jephthah fled from his brethren… and it came to pass… the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob.”
— Judges 11:3, 5 (KJV)
🧎♂️ Devotional Thought:
Jephthah was a mighty warrior, but his brothers didn’t want him. Why? Because he was the son of a harlot. They rejected him, pushed him out of the family, and he lived as an outcast. But when trouble came, they needed his help — and the very ones who cast him out came back asking him to lead.
Sometimes, the people who reject you the most are the ones who end up needing the strength God has built in you. Your pain does not disqualify you — it prepares you. Like Jephthah, God may be shaping your strength in the wilderness so you’re ready when your moment comes.
💭 Reflection Prompt:
Have I been rejected for things beyond my control? Can I believe God still has a calling on my life?
🙏 Prayer Prompt:
“Lord, I’ve felt the sting of rejection — especially from those who should have loved me. Remind me that I am still chosen, still usable, and still valuable in Your eyes.”
