Joseph | “Betrayed But Not Broken”

Devotional – Day 1: Joseph | “Betrayed But Not Broken”

Scripture Reading:

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”
— Genesis 50:20 (KJV)

🧎‍♂️ Devotional Thought:

Joseph’s story is a painful one — thrown into a pit by his own brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and forgotten in prison. Yet through every betrayal, God was weaving a greater plan. Joseph didn't allow bitterness to take root. He chose forgiveness. He rose from the pit to the palace and saved the very people who hurt him.

You may feel overlooked or wounded by those who were supposed to protect and love you. But just like Joseph, your pain has purpose. God doesn’t waste anything. In time, He will elevate you — not in spite of your wounds, but because of what He can do through them.

💭 Reflection Prompt:

Have I been holding onto pain from family rejection? What might God want to teach me through it?

🙏 Prayer Prompt:

“Lord, I bring You the places where I’ve been hurt by those close to me. Help me to forgive like Joseph did, and trust that You’re working all things for good — even this.”
