He Didn’t Bring You This Far To Leave You
Holding On to God’s Faithfulness in the Middle of the Journey
There comes a point in every believer’s walk when the road gets heavy, and the heart begins to question: “God, why does it still hurt?” or “Lord, am I still on the right path?” The doubts don’t mean you’re weak. The questions don’t mean you’ve failed. They simply mean you’re human. And in those moments—when the silence is loud and the waiting is long—you must remind your soul of this unshakable truth: God didn’t bring you this far to leave you.
Sometimes, we assume that if we’re following God, the journey should be smooth. But Scripture tells a different story. Joseph was thrown into a pit. David hid in caves. Ruth lost everything before she gained a new future. Even Jesus was led into the wilderness. But through every hardship, there was one constant: God never abandoned them. And He won’t abandon you either.
The Word of God is filled with promises for the weary, the wandering, and the waiting. Philippians 1:6 (KJV) declares,
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Let that sink in—God finishes what He starts. If He placed a dream in your heart, He will bring it to life. If He began healing, restoration, or transformation, He will carry it to completion. He didn’t pull you out of yesterday’s storm to leave you stranded today.
The truth is, your pain has purpose. Every delay, every detour, every tear—it’s not wasted. Romans 8:28 (KJV) promises that “all things work together for good to them that love God.” That means the heartbreak, the closed doors, the unanswered questions—God is using it all to shape your testimony.
And don’t be fooled into thinking you need to be perfect for God to finish His work in you. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV),
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
God’s strength shines brightest in your struggle. His glory is revealed through your scars. You don’t need all the answers—you just need to trust the One who does.
So if you find yourself in the middle—between what was and what will be—take heart. You are not lost. You are being led. And the same God who brought you this far is walking beside you still.
He’s not done with you. Your story isn’t over. And when you look back, you’ll see that even the hard chapters were part of a beautiful masterpiece.
You are still His work in progress. And He finishes everything He starts
